Overview
As Lead Preschool Teacher at Sunshine Early Learning Center, you will own a blended classroom of 3, 4, and 5-year-olds, guiding their growth through Teaching Strategies curriculum and Pyramid Model inclusionary practices. You will join a team of early childhood professionals in a licensed facility, with full support for required training and up to 20 hours of continued education credits annually. What You'll Do8
- 1Design and deliver daily play-based lessons using Teaching Strategies curriculum to meet the needs of 3-5 year-olds.
- 2Implement Pyramid Model practices to foster social-emotional skills and inclusion in the classroom.
- 3Plan and lead engaging activities that promote physical, cognitive, and social-emotional growth, adapting to each child's pace.
- 4Partner with families to support each child's development, using a strength-based approach in line with the center's mission.
- 5Maintain a safe, nurturing classroom environment, adhering to Oregon licensing standards and Safety Set requirements.
- 6Document child progress through observations and assessments, using data to inform instruction.
- 7Collaborate with co-teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive, inclusive learning community.
- 8Facilitate smooth transitions and routines for children, supporting their sense of security and belonging.
Requirements5
- 12+ years of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
- 2Current First Aid/CPR certification.
- 3Current Oregon Food Handler's certification.
- 4Registered with the Oregon Central Background Registry.
- 5Completion of Safety Set trainings: Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect, Oregon Safe Sleep, Prevention is Better Than Treatment, Introduction to Childcare Health & Safety, Foundations for Learning.
