Overview
You will own patient flow and clinical support at a private practice in New York, handling administrative and clinical duties to keep the office running. You will work with a small team of physicians and staff, communicating with insurance companies and managing patient interactions. Your role is critical for smooth operations and patient satisfaction, with a unique schedule that includes two Sundays per month.
What You'll Do8
- 1Handle all administrative duties, including scheduling, patient check-in, and record maintenance, from day one.
- 2Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vitals, preparing exam rooms, and assisting physicians during exams.
- 3Communicate with insurance companies to verify coverage, obtain authorizations, and resolve billing issues.
- 4Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure they are prepared for their appointment.
- 5Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment to support efficient patient care.
- 6Coordinate with medical staff to prioritize urgent patient needs and manage patient flow.
- 7Use EHR systems to document patient interactions and update medical records accurately.
- 8Assist with front-desk duties during peak hours, including answering phones and managing patient inquiries.
Requirements8
- 1Certified Medical Assistant with active certification from an accredited program.
- 21+ years of experience in healthcare administration or clinical support roles.
- 3Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, with ability to translate for patients and staff.
- 4Familiarity with medical billing procedures and insurance verification processes.
- 5Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a busy clinical setting.
- 6Ability to work two Sundays per month from 8am to 12pm.
- 7Proficiency with EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth.
- 8High school diploma or equivalent; additional medical assistant training preferred.
