Certified Medical Assistant, Primary Care Bilingual Spanish
Overview
You will own patient intake and clinical support for a Certified Medical Assistant role across two primary care offices in Brooklyn and Queens. You will work with a small team of providers and staff serving a diverse community, with a focus on Spanish-speaking patients. This contract position offers hands-on clinical experience ideal for pre-health students, with a schedule split between two locations.
What You'll Do8
- 1Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on EMR charts.
- 2Verify insurance, collect payments and co-payments, and obtain prior authorizations.
- 3Perform EKGs and assist with clinical procedures as directed.
- 4Answer phones, schedule appointments, and scan and fax documents.
- 5Manage patient flow to keep the office on schedule.
- 6Support providers with administrative and clinical tasks during patient visits.
- 7Communicate with patients and staff in Spanish and English as needed.
- 8Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and equipment.
Requirements8
- 1Certified Medical Assistant credential required.
- 21+ year working experience as a Medical Assistant.
- 3Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- 4Knowledge of EMR systems is required.
- 5Ability to perform EKGs and obtain prior authorizations.
- 6Familiarity with insurance verification and payment collection.
- 7Comfortable with basic clerical duties including phone, scheduling, and faxing.
- 8Willing to work at both Brooklyn and Queens locations on specified days.
