What You'll Do10

  • 1Welcome patients, verify identity, and escort them to exam rooms, setting the tone for a compassionate visit.
  • 2Obtain and document vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medications, chief complaint, and medical history in EHR.
  • 3Prepare patients for exams, treatments, and preventive-care services, ensuring comfort and readiness.
  • 4Perform point-of-care testing, specimen collection, injections, immunizations, and EKGs within scope.
  • 5Assist providers during exams and minor procedures, anticipating needs and maintaining sterile fields.
  • 6Stock and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and clinical supplies, monitoring inventory levels.
  • 7Manage patient calls, portal messages, refill requests, lab results, and referral coordination daily.
  • 8Deliver patient education and provider instructions clearly in Spanish and English, adapting to patient needs.
  • 9Follow OSHA and HIPAA protocols, upholding infection-control standards in every interaction.
  • 10Coordinate with front-office, labs, pharmacies, and specialists to close care loops and reduce no-shows.

Requirements10

  • 1High school diploma or equivalent required; accredited Medical Assistant program completion preferred.
  • 2Current CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA certification preferred; CPR/BLS required or obtainable within timeframe.
  • 31-2 years experience in family medicine, primary care, internal medicine, or pediatrics preferred.
  • 4Bilingual Spanish and English required for patient communication.
  • 5Hands-on ability to perform phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, and point-of-care testing per clinic policy.
  • 6Working knowledge of medical terminology, medication documentation, and lab procedures.
  • 7Proficiency with EHR systems and standard office technology; typing speed of 40+ wpm.
  • 8Strong patient-service skills with empathetic, professional, and respectful demeanor.
  • 9Ability to prioritize tasks and remain calm in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • 10Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift supplies up to 30 lbs throughout the shift.
