Medical Assistant, Cardiology Practice in NYC
Overview
Own the full patient visit cycle as a Medical Assistant at a busy cardiology practice in New York. You will prepare charts and equipment, support nurses and doctors, and track lab results across a high-volume caseload. Work alongside a collaborative team of physicians and nurses in an onsite environment. This role sharpens your clinical and administrative skills while ensuring every patient feels informed and cared for.
What You'll Do5
- 1Prepare for each patient visit by pulling charts, notes, and diagnostic history, and setting up EKG and other cardiac equipment.
- 2Clean and sterilize instruments and exam rooms after each procedure, following infection control protocols.
- 3Answer phone calls, triage patient questions about symptoms and medications, and route urgent needs to clinical staff.
- 4Support nurses and physicians during exams, including taking vitals, assisting with stress tests, and documenting in the EHR.
- 5Track lab results and imaging reports, call in prescriptions, and follow up with patients to communicate next steps.
Requirements5
- 1BLS Certification required; Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
- 21+ years of medical office experience, including direct patient contact.
- 3Proven customer service skills with the ability to explain medical information clearly.
- 4Strong attention to detail for chart preparation, lab tracking, and equipment management.
- 5Comfort with basic medical equipment such as autoclaves, vital sign monitors, and EKG machines.
