Overview
Drive an Automated Side Load refuse truck on residential routes in Charlotte, NC, collecting garbage, yard waste, and recycling for Waste Pro. What You'll Do8
- 1Drive Automated Side Load trucks on pre-assigned residential routes, collecting and dumping waste within time targets.
- 2Unload refuse at landfill, transfer station, or similar facility, following DOT and safety protocols.
- 3Deliver courteous service to customers and the public, tagging improper containers per company policy.
- 4Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including under hood, under carriage, fluid levels, and tire pressure, per DOT guidelines.
- 5Keep the truck clean, washing exterior weekly and performing daily DVIR logs.
- 6Use truck hydraulics to move and empty large trash bins, handling heavy loads up to 50 pounds.
- 7Maintain accurate records and submit required reports, complying with DOT and state regulations.
- 8Supervise helpers on the route, ensuring safety and proper collection practices.
Requirements8
- 1CDL Class A or Class B valid in North Carolina.
- 2Clean driving record and at least 21 years old.
- 33-5 years of commercial driving experience preferred, with solid knowledge of refuse collection procedures.
- 4Strong understanding of DOT and state requirements for commercial vehicle operators.
- 5Physical ability to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds independently up to 1000 times per day.
- 6Ability to climb in and out of the cab up to 1000 times per day and bend at waist and knees frequently.
- 7Endurance for 8-12 hour shifts in extreme weather conditions.
- 8Clear communication in English, both written and oral, to interact with customers and complete paperwork.
