CDL Class A OTR Driver, High Value Cargo
Overview
This role owns safe, secure transport of valuable goods across the U.S., covering 500+ miles per week with a Class A CDL. You will operate a tractor trailer, manage loading and unloading, and uphold DOT and OSHA standards. You will join a security-focused team at GardaWorld, reporting to dispatch leadership. What You'll Do9
- 1Maintain safety and control of the tractor trailer during all transit, including city and over-the-road routes.
- 2Load and offload cargo securely, using pallet jacks and straps, verifying counts and condition.
- 3Perform pre- and post-trip inspections per DOT and company standards, logging defects immediately.
- 4Log hours and routes in ELD and GPS systems, meeting HOS regulations.
- 5Communicate daily with dispatch via CB radio and phone, reporting delays or issues.
- 6Manage vehicle cleanliness and readiness, including fuel, DEF, and tire pressure.
- 7Handle layovers and detentions efficiently, documenting wait times for accessorial pay.
- 8Cross-train on other duties such as yard moves or local deliveries as needed.
- 9Complete driving documentation accurately, including DVIR and bill of lading.
Requirements9
- 11+ year of OTR tractor trailer driving experience.
- 2Valid Class A CDL with interstate endorsement.
- 3Meet all DOT, state, and federal requirements, including FMCSA medical card.
- 4Valid firearms permit or ability to obtain one within 60 days.
- 5Valid guard card or ability to obtain as required.
- 6No more than 2 moving violations in last 3 years; no major violations.
- 7No DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs in last 10 years.
- 8Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, and climbing.
- 9Preferred: manual transmission experience and high-value cargo transport background.
