Overview
This is a part-time, fully remote opportunity for experienced CAM programmers to help build a high-quality evaluation dataset for CNC manufacturing. You'll author clear, objective grading rubrics for Fusion 360 CAM programs, deciding what an expert machinist would approve or reject for real production runs. What You'll Do5
- 1Develop detailed 10-criterion rubrics for grading Fusion 360 CAM programs, using provided CAD models and machining parameters like stock, machine, and tooling.
- 2Write concise, verifiable reasoning for each scoring criterion so outcomes are clear and defensible.
- 3Evaluate sample CAM solutions against the rubrics and document whether they pass or fail, explaining the practical reasons behind each judgment.
- 4Ensure every rubric reflects real-world production safety and feasibility, drawing on expert machining knowledge.
- 5Collaborate with the team to refine rubric clarity and consistency across different evaluation sets.
Requirements6
- 1Hands-on experience with Fusion 360 CAM, including access to an active Fusion 360 license.
- 2Ability to program 4-axis and/or 5-axis CNC toolpaths with confidence.
- 3At least 5 years of professional CAM programming experience.
- 4Strong production judgment to determine what will run safely and efficiently on an actual machine.
- 5Fluent written English, since all deliverables are text-based and require clear explanation.
- 6Bonus: prior experience as a CAM instructor or in a teaching capacity.
