CAD Programmer - CNC Granite Fabrication
Overview
You will own CNC programming for a high-volume granite fabrication shop, turning job tickets into precise tool paths for AutoCAD and Alpha Stone. Working with a CNC Supervisor and a team of operators, you will ensure every layout runs flawlessly from simulation to fabrication. This role stands out because it combines technical drafting with hands-on production impact, and you will work independently while mastering custom stone fabrication.
What You'll Do8
- 1Retrieve job tickets from the holding rack and prioritize daily programming tasks
- 2Clean up layouts in AutoCAD by deleting overhangs and cabinet lines
- 3Separate layout pieces and profile lines for squaring and diamond tool paths
- 4Sequence layers from bottom up to define optimal tool paths
- 5Set tool directions and pod placements using Alpha Stone and Titan machine styles
- 6Run cut simulations to verify tool paths and correct defects
- 7Complete CNC communication forms and enter job data into the Pre-Production calendar
- 8Open Bizops to create program events and release them to fabrication
Requirements10
- 12+ years in CNC Programming (preferred)
- 2Previous AutoCAD experience or other computerized design systems
- 3Previous drafting or design experience
- 4Stone work or carpentry experience (preferred)
- 5High school diploma or GED
- 6Strong math and reading comprehension
- 7Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- 8Spatial intelligence and a critical eye for detail
- 9Self-directed with minimal supervision
- 10Demonstrated track record of good attendance
