Overview
You will own requirements gathering and agile delivery for a one-year hybrid contract in Austin, Texas. You will bridge BA, QA, and DEV teams, driving epics and user stories through the project lifecycle. You will work onsite with local stakeholders, reporting directly to the project manager. This role demands 5+ years of business analysis experience and deep comfort with Agile tools like Jira or Azure DevOps. You will shape the delivery roadmap from day one, ensuring every sprint meets business goals.
What You'll Do10
- 1Own requirements elicitation and documentation for hybrid projects, translating stakeholder needs into epics, features, and user stories.
- 2Drive the agile lifecycle, moving cards through creation, refinement, and completion in Jira or Azure DevOps.
- 3Partner with QA to define acceptance criteria and validate delivered features against business rules.
- 4Collaborate with DEV to refine stories, clarify scope, and remove blockers during sprint planning and daily standups.
- 5Lead backlog grooming sessions with product owners, prioritizing work based on business value and dependencies.
- 6Facilitate sprint reviews and retrospectives, capturing action items and tracking improvements for the team.
- 7Analyze current state processes, identifying gaps and recommending solutions that align with agile frameworks.
- 8Deliver impact assessments for scope changes, communicating trade-offs to stakeholders and leadership.
- 9Create and maintain traceability matrices linking requirements to test cases, ensuring full coverage.
- 10Support UAT by coordinating test plans, documenting results, and driving sign-off from business owners.
Requirements10
- 15+ years as a business analyst, with a proven record of delivering agile projects end-to-end.
- 25+ years using agile tools like Jira or Azure DevOps to create epics, features, and user stories.
- 35+ years understanding BA, QA, and DEV roles, including their interactions and handoffs.
- 45+ years of experience with agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives.
- 5Ability to work onsite in Austin, Texas on a hybrid schedule (3 days/week minimum).
- 6W2 employment only; no C2C or 1099 arrangements accepted.
- 7Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience facilitating workshops and interviews.
- 8Proficiency in writing clear, testable user stories with acceptance criteria.
- 9Experience with SQL or data analysis to support requirements validation.
