What You'll Do10
- 1Operate and maintain cutting and folding equipment, including MBO folding and gluing lines, saddle stitchers, cylinder die cutters, plow folders, and near-line web-roll finishing machines.
- 2Set up machines for each job, adjusting settings to meet specifications and quality standards.
- 3Handle cut-sheet and roll-fed paper stocks with care, ensuring proper loading and alignment.
- 4Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime and maximize uptime.
- 5Collaborate with Prepress and Print teams on imposition requirements and workflow integration.
- 6Follow job tickets and work instructions precisely, adhering to HIPAA, SOC 2, and OSHA compliance standards.
- 7Conduct production quality checks, sampling, and verification, including sequence verification for variable-data jobs.
- 8Operate material-handling equipment to move paper and finished goods safely.
- 9Cross-train on other post-print equipment and support neighboring departments as needed.
- 10Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, and work overtime as production demands.
Requirements9
- 12+ years operating bindery or finishing equipment in a production environment.
- 2Experience with cutters, folders, saddle stitchers, MBO folding and gluing lines, cylinder die cutters, plow folders, or near-line web-roll finishing equipment is strongly preferred.
- 3Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot production machinery.
- 4Working knowledge of press imposition and post-print workflows.
- 5Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- 6Comfortable using computers and production software in a tech-driven setting.
- 7Proven ability to follow processes, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
- 8Team-oriented with strong communication skills and a willingness to assist.
- 9Flexibility to work overtime as required by production schedules.
