Bilingual Mental Health Provider (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC)
Overview
You will own short-term individual therapy and trauma-informed care for survivors of domestic violence and intimate partner violence at Voces Latinas, serving over 7,000 immigrant Latines annually. You will carry a small caseload for case management, conduct mental health and substance use screenings using PHQ-9, GAD-7, and substance use protocols, and collaborate with agencies like ACS and law enforcement. You will join a team of social workers and counselors focused on culturally responsive services, with opportunities to supervise mental health students and represent the organization at community forums. What You'll Do10
- 1Conduct in-person and virtual therapeutic sessions using CBT and Motivational Interviewing techniques
- 2Screen for mental health and substance use with PHQ-9, GAD-7, and validate tools
- 3Develop safety plans addressing DV/IPV and suicidal ideations within the first 30 days
- 4Advocate for clients with ACS and law enforcement to secure protective services
- 5Coordinate with external agencies for referrals, ensuring linkage to PrEP and PEP
- 6Complete client service plans and track goal achievement using Excel
- 7Document progress notes and enter data into electronic health records within 48 hours
- 8Produce monthly reports on caseload outcomes for supervisor review
- 9Facilitate psychoeducation groups for immigrant Latines on mental health and coping
- 10Supervise mental health students with SIFI certification, guiding their clinical work
Requirements10
- 15+ years of therapeutic experience with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors
- 2Master's degree in social work, counseling, or psychology from an accredited institution
- 3LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC licensure in New York State
- 4Certified in Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) framework
- 5Familiarity with social service resources in Queens County, including immigration policies
- 6Experience with the healthcare delivery system and case management
- 7Skilled in using Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting
- 8Bilingual in English and Spanish
- 9Certified SIFI supervisor (preferred)
- 10Comfortable with telehealth platforms for virtual sessions
