Overview

You will own a caseload of Spanish-speaking patients at a multi-specialty practice in Queens, NY, providing evidence-based therapy and crisis intervention. What You'll Do10

  • 1Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including clinical interviews, psychosocial histories, and mental status examinations for Spanish-speaking patients.
  • 2Build personalized treatment plans using evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, and MI to address patient goals and diagnoses.
  • 3Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions, adapting interventions to cultural and linguistic needs.
  • 4Diagnose mental health disorders using DSM-5 criteria and coordinate care with on-site providers for integrated treatment.
  • 5Document all patient interactions in the EHR within 24 hours, meeting regulatory and ethical standards.
  • 6Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and intervene in crisis situations to ensure patient safety.
  • 7Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, coping strategies, and community resources to empower self-management.
  • 8Participate in case consultations and team meetings to refine treatment approaches and share insights.
  • 9Maintain compliance with HIPAA and New York State regulations, safeguarding patient confidentiality.
  • 10Complete continuing education and licensure renewal requirements to stay current with best practices.

Requirements9

  • 1Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field from an accredited program.
  • 2New York State license as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
  • 3Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (written and spoken).
  • 4New graduates are welcome to apply; no prior experience required.
  • 5Skilled in conducting clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, and using CBT, DBT, MI.
  • 6Experience maintaining EHR records, with attention to detail and timeliness.
