Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) - Autism
Overview
You'll deliver targeted behavior support to students with autism, implementing ABA strategies to drive skill acquisition and reduce challenging behaviors. You'll work directly with clients, collect data on progress, and follow session plans based on IEP goals. You'll join a collaborative team at Blue Sea Educational Consulting, Inc., serving students in school, home, and community settings across New York. This contract role offers flexible scheduling and competitive hourly pay, with a focus on meaningful student outcomes.
What You'll Do7
- 1Implement ABA strategies during one-on-one sessions to promote skill acquisition and behavior reduction.
- 2Collect accurate and timely data on student progress toward IEP goals and behavior plan targets.
- 3Follow session plans based on the student's IEP and individualized needs.
- 4Fulfill mandates outlined on the IEP as determined by the CSE team.
- 5Write detailed, objective session notes after each session documenting student progress.
- 6Maintain professional and ethical standards in all interactions.
- 7Adapt strategies in real time to meet the student's needs across school, home, and community settings.
Requirements7
- 1Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or a related field with ABA work experience.
- 2Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
- 3Experience reviewing and implementing IEPs.
- 4Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- 5Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow professional guidelines.
- 6Master's degree required.
- 7Ability to commute to Bellmore, NY 11710.
