Behavior Therapist, ABA & Autism Services
Overview
You will deliver direct ABA instruction to children ages 2-21 in home and community settings across Nassau and Suffolk County. You will join a collaborative team of Behavior Therapists and BCBAs at Achieve Beyond, a provider of pediatric therapy for over 25 years. Our culture centers on support and high ethical standards, with full practice management so you can focus on therapy. This role offers paid training, paperless data collection, and opportunities for continuing education.
What You'll Do6
- 1Provide direct ABA instruction following the educational plan designed by the BCBA.
- 2Participate in collaborative team meetings with BCBA and other Behavior Therapists to review progress.
- 3Communicate with families through end-of-session debriefs, sharing resources and strategies for home and community.
- 4Collect daily data and maintain the child's program book weekly.
- 5Ensure confidentiality of child and family information per state and federal regulations.
- 6Implement behavior intervention plans and adapt strategies in real-time to meet each child's needs.
Requirements8
- 12+ years working with special needs children ages 2-21 in a supervised setting or current enrollment in an undergraduate/graduate program in psychology, healthcare, human services, or education.
- 2Experience using ABA preferred.
- 3Successful completion of 20-hour classroom training and passing competency exam.
- 4Must be self-motivated, a team player, and exercise patience and professionalism.
- 5Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- 6Excellent communication skills with children, family members, and supervisors.
- 7Must be comfortable working in a home-based setting and able to travel to assigned cases via personal vehicle, walking, or public transportation.
- 8Ability to climb stairs, lift 10 pounds regularly, and sit on the floor, kneel, or crawl for extended periods.
Salary Insight
$20 - $24k per year
