Autism Aide, ABA Therapy & Child Development
Overview
You will deliver direct ABA instruction to children with autism in home settings across Nassau County, implementing plans crafted by Board Certified Behavior Analysts. Your work touches caseloads of 2-21 year olds, with collaborative team meetings and family debriefs shaping each session. This role stands apart through full practice management, ongoing BACB and ASHA approved training, and a paperless data collection system, allowing you to focus solely on child progress.
What You'll Do5
- 1Deliver ABA instruction per the BCBA-designed educational plan during each session.
- 2Attend collaborative team meetings with the BCBA and other behavior therapists to align on goals.
- 3Debrief with family members post-session, sharing strategies and resources for home and community consistency.
- 4Record daily data and maintain the child's program book weekly, updating progress notes.
- 5Protect confidentiality of child and family information per State and Federal regulations.
Requirements8
- 12+ years working with special needs children ages 2-21 in a supervised setting.
- 2Currently enrolled in or completed an undergraduate/graduate program in psychology, healthcare, human services, education, or related field.
- 3Experience with ABA preferred.
- 4Completion of 20-hour classroom training provided by Achieve Beyond and passing competency exam.
- 5Self-motivated, team player, patient, and professional.
- 6Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- 7Excellent communication skills with children, family, and supervisor.
- 8Comfortable working in a home-based setting.
Salary Insight
$20 - $24k per year
