Behavior Therapist, ABA & Pediatrics
Overview
You will deliver direct ABA instruction to children ages 2-21 across Middlesex County, implementing plans from a BCBA. You will join a team of therapists at Achieve Beyond, a pediatric therapy provider serving the metro New York area since 1995. You will collaborate in team meetings, communicate with families, and collect daily data, all with full practice management support. This role stands out for its focus on home-based therapy and access to continuing education through ASHA and BACB ACE providers.
What You'll Do5
- 1Provide direct ABA instruction following the educational plan from your BCBA.
- 2Participate in collaborative team meetings with the BCBA and other therapists.
- 3Communicate with family members through debriefs at session end, offering strategies for home and community.
- 4Collect daily data and organize the child's program book each week.
- 5Maintain confidentiality for children and families per state and federal regulations.
Requirements8
- 12+ years working with special needs children ages 2-21 in a supervised setting or enrollment in a related undergraduate/graduate program.
- 2Experience using ABA preferred.
- 3Successful completion of a 20-hour classroom training and passing grade on competency exam.
- 4Must be self-motivated, a team player, and exercise patience and professionalism.
- 5Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- 6Excellent communication skills with children, family members, and supervisors.
- 7Must be comfortable working in a home-based setting and able to travel to assigned cases.
- 8Ability to climb stairs, lift 10 lbs regularly, and sit on the floor, kneel, or crawl for extended periods.
