Before and After School Teacher, Early Childhood Education
Overview
You will own daily classroom operations for before and after school programs at a Cadence Education center, supporting children's physical, social, and emotional growth. Working under the School Director and Lead Teacher, you will implement a research-based curriculum and maintain a safe, nurturing environment. You will build strong relationships with children and families while ensuring compliance with state licensing and Cadence safety protocols. This role includes following IEPs and behavioral support plans, making a real difference in children's lives.
What You'll Do8
- 1Greet children and families daily, building professional and welcoming relationships.
- 2Support the Lead Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and Cadence Signature Programs.
- 3Respond to individual developmental, behavioral, cultural, and learning needs, including following IEPs and behavioral support plans.
- 4Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and leadership using Cadence-approved tools.
- 5Follow the Cadence Education Safety and Supervision Manual, documenting and reporting accidents and incidents.
- 6Manage and document child behaviors in alignment with Cadence policies and classroom expectations.
- 7Participate in required meetings, trainings, and professional development.
- 8Maintain classroom routines and ensure safety and licensing compliance.
Requirements8
- 11+ years experience in early childhood or group care setting preferred.
- 2Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- 3Must meet state licensing qualifications for a Teacher in a licensed childcare center.
- 4Ability to obtain and maintain required background clearances and health screenings.
- 5CDA preferred but not required.
- 6Ability to follow safety procedures including Name-to-Face accountability, food allergy processes, and Safe Sleep practices.
- 7Ability to work collaboratively as part of a classroom team.
- 8Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
