Overview

Lead design, programming, testing, and optimization of automated PLC and robotic processes at a multi-site manufacturing operation. Youll partner with vendors and the maintenance team to implement control system projects, modernizations, and continuous improvement initiatives at scale. This role supports a 24/7 production environment and requires hands-on problem solving, documentation updates, and cross-functional collaboration. What You'll Do9

  • 1Build and test new Control System and Automation projects for our facility and drive implementation from concept through commissioning
  • 2Design, program, and validate PLC and HMI solutions for line automation and equipment modernization
  • 3Lead root cause analysis and incident investigations for control issues to minimize downtime
  • 4Participate in capital projects, installations, and testing of robotic systems and new PLC hardware
  • 5Provide front-line technical support and maintenance for automated manufacturing systems, ensuring 24/7 availability
  • 6Implement modifications and continuous improvement solutions for existing automated equipment and stand-alone control systems
  • 7Develop and update design specifications, SOPs, operating standards, and engineering drawings
  • 8Collaborate with vendors and maintenance teams to ensure robust, scalable control architectures
  • 9Document changes and ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety requirements

Requirements9

  • 15+ years of experience in electrical maintenance and/or robotics automation in an industrial setting
  • 2Proficiency with Allen Bradley CompactLogix and ControlLogix or Siemens Step 7 and related platforms
  • 3Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, Modbus and RS232
  • 4Ability to develop control applications through PLC programming and HMI design
  • 5Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills in a manufacturing environment
  • 6Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, and P&IDs
  • 7Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8Willingness to support on-call duties and work in a 24/7 manufacturing setting
  • 9Comfort working in plant environments with varying temperatures and noise levels
