Overview

Controls System Engineer leads scalable automation initiatives across North America delivery stations, shaping the next generation of MHE control systems. You will design, implement, and support AB PLC/HMI, vision, and ignition systems within a fast moving logistics network. You will collaborate with field engineering, operations, and vendor partners to deliver reliable, data driven improvements. This role offers hands on development with cross functional teams and opportunities to own innovative projects from concept through deployment.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Build and diagnose PLC/HMI/SCADA solutions to reduce asset downtime and improve throughput
  • 2Design reviews for complex control systems and software with internal teams and vendor partners
  • 3Influence technical implementation and system designs across cross functional teams and vendors
  • 4Identify and implement process improvements to increase agility across design, automation, testing and operations
  • 5Simultaneously manage multiple high visibility projects while communicating with internal and external partners
  • 6Review new automation technologies for MHE systems focusing on electrical and controls interfaces
  • 7Provide technical guidance for collaboration projects and major network support requests
  • 8Understand and apply control systems for material handling including Allen Bradley PLCs and Ethernet networks
  • 9Create and maintain wiring diagrams, P&IDs, network drawings, and SOPs
  • 10Develop automated alarms, dashboards and KPI reports to support data driven decisions
  • 11Travel up to 80% to North America delivery stations for installations and commissioning

Requirements6

  • 12+ years of PLC programming experience
  • 23+ years of industrial controls and automation experience
  • 32+ years of PLC/SCADA integration experience
  • 4Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent, or 5+ years of professional/military experience
  • 5Willingness to travel up to 80%
  • 6Excellent collaboration and problem solving skills
