Assurance Associate - Audit & Accounting Services
Overview
You will own audit engagements for middle-market clients across industries, delivering GAAP-compliant financial statements and GAAS-aligned testing. You will join a collaborative team at RSM, working on multiple engagements each year, building client relationships, and applying RSM's audit methodology. What You'll Do8
- 1Understand clients' needs, their business and industry, accounting and control systems, and relevant GAAP and GAAS issues.
- 2Develop proficiency in RSM's audit approach and tools, applying them to engagement tasks.
- 3Assess risks and evaluate clients' internal control structures to identify areas for testing.
- 4Perform substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues.
- 5Draft financial statements under prescribed formats, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- 6Build strong working relationships with clients, understanding their business challenges and goals.
- 7Collaborate with team members across multiple engagements, contributing to a respectful and productive environment.
- 8Travel to assigned client locations, up to 25%, arranging reliable transportation.
Requirements8
- 1Minimum B.A/B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university by employment start, with an accounting major.
- 2Ability to travel to client locations, with reliable transportation, up to 25%.
- 3Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
- 4Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 5Strong computer skills, including MS Office.
- 6Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- 7Client-focused with motivation to work in a dynamic environment.

Salary Insight
$70 - $84k per year
