Associate Epidemiologist, Public Health Analytics
Overview
Own epidemiologic analysis of public health datasets including surveillance, clinical, and claims data. Support senior epidemiologists and data scientists in monitoring trends, validating data, and producing reports that inform decisions. Collaborate with biostatisticians and informaticists on data modernization. This role drives real impact in public health through rigorous analytics and clear communication.
What You'll Do8
- 1Clean and validate surveillance, clinical, and claims datasets using SAS, R, Python, or SQL.
- 2Build descriptive statistics and trend analyses to produce routine surveillance reports.
- 3Develop dashboards and visualizations with Power BI, Tableau, or R Shiny for technical and non-technical audiences.
- 4Document data dictionaries, metadata, and standard operating procedures to maintain quality and reproducibility.
- 5Conduct literature reviews to support evidence synthesis and scientific publications.
- 6Collaborate with epidemiologists and data scientists on analytics and data modernization initiatives.
- 7Provide technical assistance and training to stakeholders.
- 8Maintain version control and quality standards across all analytic deliverables.
Requirements8
- 11+ years of professional experience in epidemiology, surveillance, or public health analytics.
- 2Bachelor's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Health Sciences, Data Science, or related field.
- 3Experience with large datasets using SAS, R, Python, SQL, or similar tools.
- 4Knowledge of epidemiologic principles and public health surveillance methods.
- 5Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 6Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- 7U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
- 8Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust clearance.
