Associate Epidemiologist, Public Health Analytics
Overview
You will drive public health analytics and data modernization, supporting senior epidemiologists and data scientists at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention scale. You will own dataset preparation and analysis that informs federal public health decisions. You will join a multidisciplinary team of epidemiologists, biostatisticians, and data scientists working on surveillance, research, and reporting. What You'll Do9
- 1Build analysis-ready datasets by cleaning, validating, and quality-checking surveillance, clinical, claims, and survey data.
- 2Produce descriptive statistics and trend analyses using SAS, R, or Python to support public health reports.
- 3Develop dashboards and visualizations in Power BI, Tableau, or R Shiny for technical and non-technical audiences.
- 4Document data dictionaries, metadata, and codebooks to maintain reproducibility standards.
- 5Conduct literature reviews and synthesize evidence for research and surveillance projects.
- 6Collaborate with epidemiologists and data scientists on public health analytics and modernization initiatives.
- 7Support stakeholder engagement and training activities, delivering clear summaries of analytic findings.
- 8Maintain version control and quality assurance across all analytic deliverables.
- 9Contribute to project meetings and continuous improvement of analytic workflows.
Requirements7
- 11+ years supporting epidemiology, surveillance, or public health analytics.
- 2Bachelor's degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, Biostatistics, or related field.
- 3Experience with SAS, R, Python, or SQL for large dataset analysis.
- 4Familiarity with epidemiologic principles and public health surveillance methods.
- 5Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 6Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
- 7Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
