Assistant Store Manager, Retail Operations
Overview
You will own daily store operations, customer service, and team development at a high-volume Dollar Tree location. You will directly manage opening and closing procedures, process corporate directives, and secure company assets, all while maintaining a clean and well-stocked sales floor. Working alongside the Store Manager, you will supervise and train store associates to deliver exceptional service. What You'll Do10
- 1Execute daily store activities, including opening and closing procedures, and direct associates to maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
- 2Handle customer inquiries and resolve concerns with a positive, approachable manner, ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business.
- 3Coordinate merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor, including seasonal areas, using proper safety guidelines and lifting techniques.
- 4Process all corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy and Task Compliance tasks, and manage Key Survey information requests.
- 5Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays, ensuring merchandise is properly merchandised and tagged.
- 6Assist with ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and maintaining accurate records for payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits.
- 7Implement loss prevention measures to protect all company assets, including store cash and inventory.
- 8Train and develop store associates, fostering a positive and respectful environment while holding team members accountable to company standards.
- 9Oversee store cleanliness, including restrooms, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal, to meet company standards.
- 10Support the Store Manager in all operational aspects, including seasonal transitions and special projects.
Requirements8
- 1High school diploma or equivalent preferred, with the ability to read and interpret operational directives and merchandise schematics.
- 2Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
- 3Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- 4Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, for effective team leadership and customer interaction.
- 5Exceptional customer service skills with a positive, approachable demeanor.
- 6Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle store challenges.
- 7Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- 8Proficiency in POS and cash handling procedures is a plus.
