Assistant Store Manager, Retail Operations & Team Leadership
Overview
You will own daily store operations at a high-volume Dollar Tree location, directing a team of 10+ associates and driving sales floor readiness. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will coordinate merchandising, inventory control, and customer service while enforcing safety and loss prevention protocols. This role stands out for its hands-on scope: you'll lead opening and closing procedures, manage task compliance, and directly develop associates for advancement.
What You'll Do9
- 1Direct day-to-day store activities, including merchandising, inventory flow, and team supervision, to meet sales and operational targets.
- 2Lead the execution of Pull and Hold and Destroy directives, ensuring task compliance and timely response to Key Survey requests.
- 3Own the opening and closing procedures, balancing cash registers, deposits, and receipts to safeguard store assets.
- 4Coordinate merchandise transfers from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor, maintaining seasonal displays and promotional fixtures.
- 5Train and develop store associates on customer service standards, safety protocols, and company procedures.
- 6Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints with a positive, approachable demeanor, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
- 7Monitor and maintain store cleanliness, including restrooms, floors, and trash removal, to uphold company presentation standards.
- 8Process damaged merchandise and record keeping for payroll, scheduling, and cash management, supporting loss prevention efforts.
- 9Enforce safety guidelines and company policies across the team, fostering a positive and respectful work environment.
Requirements8
- 11+ year of store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and interpret operational directives, such as merchandise schematics.
- 3Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Retail POS systems for scheduling, reporting, and inventory management.
- 4Physical capability to lift 55 lbs from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent standing, stooping, and climbing.
- 5Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, associates, and leaders.
- 6Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills to address store issues in real-time.
- 7Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required by store hours.
- 8Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional travel between store locations.
