Assistant Store Manager, Retail Operations
Overview
You will own daily store operations at a high-volume Dollar Tree location in Charlotte, NC, managing inventory flow, team performance, and customer experience. You will report to the Store Manager and lead a team of associates through training, coaching, and task delegation. You will handle opening and closing procedures, process corporate directives, and maintain store standards. This role demands hands-on leadership in a fast-paced retail environment, with opportunities to develop your management skills.
What You'll Do9
- 1Execute opening and closing procedures and manage cash handling to protect store assets.
- 2Supervise, train, and develop store associates to deliver exceptional customer service.
- 3Oversee merchandise flow from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor, including seasonal displays.
- 4Process corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey requests.
- 5Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays to drive sales.
- 6Order merchandise, process damaged items, and manage record keeping for payroll, scheduling, and deposits.
- 7Ensure store cleanliness and organization, including restrooms and stockroom, to company standards.
- 8Enforce safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a secure environment for associates and customers.
- 9Address customer questions and concerns in a positive, approachable manner.
Requirements7
- 1High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret operational directives required.
- 21+ years of retail, grocery, or drug store management experience preferred.
- 3Ability to lift 55 lbs from floor to above shoulder height and meet physical demands (standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling).
- 4Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
- 5Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.
- 6Exceptional customer service and organizational skills required.
- 7Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment required.
