You will own daily operations of a busy Seafood Department, directing staff and ensuring top-quality product. You will oversee customer service, staff training, scheduling, and inventory, reporting to the Seafood Manager. You will work in a hands-on role, fileting fish, setting displays, and maintaining safety standards. What You'll Do8
- 1Own daily Seafood Department operations, directing staff and ensuring product quality and presentation
- 2Train and schedule Seafood Clerk staff, building a skilled and motivated team
- 3Filet fish for orders and display, prepare seafood, and replenish ice throughout the day
- 4Assist customers with seafood questions, providing expert recommendations and service
- 5Set displays for proper presentation and manage merchandising, pricing, and stocking
- 6Enforce company policies and safety guidelines, ensuring a clean and compliant workspace
- 7Serve as backup to the Seafood Manager, stepping in during absences or peak hours
- 8Handle inventory counts and ordering, minimizing waste and maximizing freshness
Requirements8
- 11+ years of management experience in a busy seafood department
- 2Hands-on ability to filet fish, identify fish types, and prepare and clean seafood
- 3Skills to develop and train team members, building relationships and using staff strengths
- 4Proven record of outstanding customer service and clear communication in English
- 5Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment relevant to the seafood department
- 6Comfort with a fast-paced environment, including moving continuously on hard surfaces
- 7Capability to lift objects up to 30 pounds and heavier items with assistance
- 8Willingness to work in temperature extremes from freezers and coolers
