Overview
You will own the daily preparation, packaging, and display of fresh meat and seafood products in a high-volume grocery department. Working with a team of 5-10 associates, you will ensure product quality and food safety standards while assisting customers with selections and cooking tips. What You'll Do8
- 1Prepare and package meat and seafood products for display, ensuring accurate weights and labels.
- 2Maintain department cleanliness and organization, following food safety protocols and sanitation schedules.
- 3Stock and rotate products on the sales floor, checking expiration dates and removing damaged items.
- 4Assist customers in selecting cuts, providing cooking recommendations and answering product questions.
- 5Operate and clean department equipment, including slicers, scales, and wrapping machines.
- 6Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the department manager.
- 7Support team during peak hours, handling multiple customer and stocking tasks simultaneously.
- 8Follow company policies for product handling, including temperature controls and waste management.
Requirements8
- 11+ year experience in retail or food service, preferably in meat or seafood departments.
- 2Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods.
- 3Food safety certification, such as ServSafe, is preferred but not required.
- 4Comfortable working with raw meat and seafood products.
- 5Basic math skills for weighing, pricing, and inventory counts.
- 6Strong communication skills for customer interaction and team collaboration.
- 7Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- 8High school diploma or equivalent.
