Overview

MHALA seeks an Assistant Program Manager to lead the Operation Healthy Homecoming Supportive Services for Veteran Families program. This role oversees daily operations ensures compliance with SSVF regulations and supports veteran families through coordinated housing and supportive services.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Provide general oversight and take leadership responsibilities for team members during program activities
  • 2Assist in direct supervision based on the housing first and psychosocial rehabilitation model
  • 3Conduct evaluations of program delivery focusing on flow and veteran access to services
  • 4Monitor enrollment housing placement timeliness and exits to align with SSVF expectations
  • 5Provide feedback on emergent issues and escalate concerns to the Program Manager
  • 6Review case files for eligibility documentation compliance
  • 7Offer coaching on documentation and service standards
  • 8Track TFA usage trends and alert about spending patterns
  • 9Participate in HUD-VASH/SSVF case conferences and community meetings
  • 10Represent MHALA at funder events and advocate for social justice initiatives
  • 11Network with agencies to develop programs and share resources

Requirements11

  • 1Bachelor’s degree in human service or related field or certification in mental health specialty LCSW ASW RN LVN LPT drug alcohol rehab counselor preferred
  • 2Minimum 3 years psychosocial rehabilitative services experience with disabled populations
  • 3Supervisory leadership experience in non-profit social service settings
  • 4Veteran status preferred
  • 5Strong organizational skills and ability to function in a team-oriented environment
  • 6Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and HMIS systems
  • 7Knowledge of VA system HUD programs and federal state local housing subsidies
  • 8Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • 9Valid Class C driver’s license and insurance coverage
  • 10TB clearance and annual re-testing requirements
  • 11Three recent employment references within seven years
