Assistant General Manager, Coffee & Retail Operations
Overview
You will own store operations at 8th and Roast Coffee Co., driving sales and customer excellence in a busy Nashville cafe. You'll work with the General Manager to manage daily functions, staff, and inventory, using POS systems and payroll tools to keep the store running. You'll also lead team development and training programs to build a strong, knowledgeable crew. What You'll Do8
- 1Manage daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and customer service, from opening to closing.
- 2Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members, building a pipeline for future roles.
- 3Supervise and motivate the retail sales team to hit sales targets and deliver outstanding customer experiences.
- 4Drive employee orientation, training, and development programs to boost product knowledge and service skills.
- 5Process payroll, bookkeeping, cash handling, and POS system tasks with accuracy and accountability.
- 6Control inventory levels, stock replenishment, merchandising, pricing, and stockroom organization.
- 7Enforce operational policies, safety standards, and store procedures, managing shifts and compliance.
- 8Coordinate with the GM on scheduling, performance feedback, and strategic initiatives.
Requirements8
- 12+ years in an Assistant Manager or supervisory role in retail, preferably grocery or general merchandise.
- 2Track record in retail sales management, team supervision, and operational oversight.
- 3Experience with inventory management, purchasing, pricing strategies, and POS systems.
- 4Bilingual or multilingual abilities to serve diverse customers (preferred).
- 5Proven skill in payroll administration, bookkeeping, cash handling, and basic math.
- 6Experience leading employee orientation, training, and development in retail.
- 7Understanding of retail standards for customer service, merchandising, stock management, and sales techniques.
- 8Strong time management and organizational skills to juggle multiple priorities.
