Assistant Building Engineer, 5+ years in residential maintenance & HVAC systems
Overview
The role owns maintenance, repair, and replacement of building systems in a residential community of 8,000+ residents. You will work with the Building Engineer, Property Manager, and maintenance staff to ensure reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and related equipment. This onsite, full-time position includes on call emergency coverage and collaboration with contractors to uphold safety standards and resident satisfaction. What You'll Do5
- 1Build and oversee preventive maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems to minimize outages
- 2Assist in troubleshooting and repairing building systems including elevators and water heaters
- 3Coordinate with contractors for scheduled and emergency maintenance while ensuring safety and quality
- 4Respond to resident requests and recurring complaints with timely, professional resolution
- 5Document system status, inspections, and work orders to support accreditation requirements and reporting
Requirements5
- 1Five (5) or more years of experience in maintenance of residential buildings
- 2Third Class Engineering License preferred
- 3Experience with troubleshooting and repairing HVAC and mechanical systems
- 4Ability to respond to emergencies on call and participate in back up coverage
- 5Strong communication and customer service skills to interact with residents, staff, and contractors
