Overview
You will own facility safety and loss prevention at a high-volume Sam's Club location in Detroit, Michigan. You will conduct safety sweeps, monitor suspicious activity, and execute emergency response procedures to protect assets and people. What You'll Do10
- 1Conduct safety sweeps across the facility, spotting forklift hazards and correcting unsafe conditions.
- 2Monitor surveillance and floor activity to identify suspicious behavior, documenting findings in logs and reports.
- 3Execute emergency response procedures, including fire, weather, and active shooter protocols.
- 4Investigate incidents of theft or safety violations, gathering evidence and assisting management with resolutions.
- 5Enforce Company steel standards and hazardous material disposal procedures, ensuring compliance daily.
- 6Partner with store associates to promote a culture of safety and respect, providing on-the-spot coaching.
- 7Maintain accurate paperwork and digital logs for all safety and security incidents, ensuring audit readiness.
- 8Report facility vulnerabilities to management, recommending improvements to secure assets.
- 9Assist with store opening and closing procedures, checking alarms and locking systems.
- 10Engage with customers and members to address safety concerns while maintaining a welcoming environment.
Requirements8
- 118+ years of age or older
- 2High school diploma or equivalent
- 3Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8+ hours per shift
- 4Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- 5Clear verbal and written communication for incident reports and team coordination
- 6Basic computer proficiency for logging data in Microsoft Office and security systems
- 7Willingness to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- 8Prior security, loss prevention, or retail experience preferred but not required
