Store Detective, Loss Prevention & Asset Protection
Overview
You will own store safety and loss prevention at a Meijer location, reducing shrinkage through proactive surveillance and incident response. You will work with store leadership and the asset protection team to secure the sales floor, backroom, and perimeter. What You'll Do10
- 1Inspect the building exterior and parking lot to identify and report potential hazards.
- 2Conduct walking inspections of the backroom and sales floor to enforce safety and security standards.
- 3Review cashier exception reports to detect and investigate internal theft.
- 4Conduct internal theft surveillance and follow up on theft activity reports.
- 5Perform shoplifting surveillance and participate in apprehensions of law violators.
- 6Test and inspect camera equipment to ensure effective operation of the CCTV system.
- 7Review the alarm system printer for suspicious activity and respond accordingly.
- 8Document incidents thoroughly and write reports with facts suitable for litigation.
- 9Testify in criminal or civil court proceedings as needed.
- 10Adhere to all safety practices and maintain 200% safety accountability.
Requirements7
- 1High School graduate or equivalent.
- 2Minimum 6 months experience in security or at least 1 year of work experience.
- 3Ability to conduct visual inspections and walking tours of a retail environment.
- 4Skill in reviewing reports and identifying anomalies (e.g., exception reports).
- 5Capability to document incidents and write clear, factual reports.
- 6Willingness to participate in apprehensions and legal proceedings.
- 7Commitment to safety and following established policies.
