Asset Protection Specialist - Retail Security & Theft Prevention
Overview
You will own theft deterrence and safety in a high-risk store environment, making apprehensions and wearing a body camera. You will surveil the sales floor, investigate incidents, and collaborate with store teams and law enforcement to protect people, products, and brand experience. This role reports to the store leadership and works closely with Loss Prevention. You will also train teams on safety protocols and analyze incident data to drive prevention strategies.
What You'll Do8
- 1Maintain a strong, visible presence on the sales floor to deter theft and promote safety.
- 2Conduct surveillance and apprehend shoplifters in line with company policy and legal standards.
- 3Wear and operate body-worn cameras to document incidents and ensure transparency.
- 4Collaborate with store teams and law enforcement to build and prosecute external theft or fraud cases.
- 5Train store teams on safe handling of theft incidents and use of reporting tools.
- 6Inspect physical security systems regularly and report vulnerabilities.
- 7Analyze incident data to spot patterns and recommend prevention strategies.
- 8Support crisis response efforts and foster a culture of safety and inclusion.
Requirements6
- 11+ years in theft apprehension and surveillance.
- 2Solid grasp of safety and legal protocols.
- 3Comfort with wearing and operating body-worn cameras.
- 4Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
- 5Ability to work independently in high-pressure situations.
- 6Working knowledge of business continuity planning and risk management.
