Assistant Store Manager, Retail Operations
Overview
As Assistant Store Manager, you own daily store operations and team supervision at a high-volume retail location in Detroit. You lead customer experience, manage inventory and merchandising, and enforce safety and loss prevention standards. Working directly with the Store Manager, you train and develop associates while maintaining a clean, organized environment. This role offers direct impact on store performance and a pathway to store leadership.
What You'll Do9
- 1Run day-to-day store activities, including opening and closing procedures
- 2Guide customers with a positive, approachable demeanor and resolve their concerns
- 3Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor, keeping seasonal displays current
- 4Execute corporate directives for Pull and Hold, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information
- 5Maintain promotional fixtures and front-end displays to drive sales
- 6Manage merchandise ordering, damaged goods processing, and record keeping for payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits
- 7Protect company assets by enforcing loss prevention and cash handling policies
- 8Coach and train store associates on operational procedures and customer service
- 9Keep the store clean and stocked, including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal
Requirements8
- 11+ years of store management in retail, grocery, or drug store environment
- 2High school diploma or equivalent
- 3Ability to read and interpret operational directives such as merchandise schematics
- 4Lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, and repetitive lifting
- 5Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- 6Exceptional customer service and organizational skills
- 7Proven problem solving and decision-making abilities
- 8Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-energy environment
