Assistant Manager, Convenience Store Operations
Overview
Drive store success as Assistant Manager at a high-energy convenience store, owning daily operations and team leadership across second and third shifts. You will support the Store Manager, direct customer service, and manage inventory and financial tasks. This role offers weekly pay, monthly bonus potential, and a $1000 sign-on bonus after six months. You will develop into a Store Manager or beyond, with 401(k) from day one and full benefits.
What You'll Do10
- 1Support the Store Manager in all daily operations, from opening to closing, and step in as acting manager when needed.
- 2Run the register and assist customers with speed and accuracy, resolving issues on the spot.
- 3Coach and motivate team members to upsell products, track performance, and give real-time feedback.
- 4Hire, train, and lead a high-performing team focused on customer service and store goals.
- 5Manage inventory: order stock, handle deliveries, and merchandise shelves to maintain full displays.
- 6Create and manage team schedules to ensure full coverage across shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- 7Handle daily cash: process deposits, oversee cashier accuracy, and balance the register.
- 8Maintain a clean store: restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps, following safety standards.
- 9Drive store financials: monitor sales, control costs, and report variances to the manager.
- 10Complete other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Requirements8
- 118+ years old with open availability for weekends, holidays, and second/third shifts.
- 2Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and proof of insurance for bank deposits.
- 31+ year experience in retail or food service leadership, preferred but not required.
- 4Basic math skills and proficiency in English.
- 5Willing to obtain Food Safety Certification within 30 days of hire.
- 6Physical readiness to stand for long periods and perform cleaning tasks like trash removal.
- 7Reliable transportation to commute to Store 8239 in Detroit.
- 8Pass background check and drug screening as part of employment offer.
