Area Schedule Lead, Data Center Construction
Overview
You will own construction planning and scheduling for Google's Data Center portfolio across a large geographic area, delivering critical facilities at speed. You lead schedule implementation with General Contractors and Managed Service Suppliers, partnering with Project Managers to drive execution. Your knowledge of construction project planning and cost management sets the direction for tier one and two supply chain schedules. This role stands out for its direct influence on multi-disciplinary engineering projects and the opportunity to shape technical programs at Google.
What You'll Do6
- 1Create and manage schedules that support data center project execution across multiple campuses and buildings.
- 2Lead planning and scheduling implementation with General Contractors and Managed Service Suppliers, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- 3Partner with Project Managers to support schedule implementation, including setup, training, execution, and assurance.
- 4Drive schedule acceleration analyses and identify opportunities for faster schedules, mitigating risks and communicating trade-offs to stakeholders.
- 5Direct engagement in schedule review and negotiations with Main/Sub Contracts, achieving alignment and acceptance of a common plan.
- 6Collaborate with internal teams to plan requirements and usher projects through the entire lifecycle, from initiation to handover.
Requirements6
- 15+ years of experience working with technical construction programs or projects.
- 25+ years of experience in construction planning, scheduling, or field roles.
- 3Experience with cost management, cost planning, and estimation.
- 4Experience in negotiation and project procurement.
- 5Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6Preferred: 7+ years of experience in data center construction.
Salary Insight
$163 - $236k per year
