Project Manager, Data Center Construction
Overview
Own large-scale data center construction projects from kickoff to handover, managing multi-million-dollar budgets and schedules. Turner & Townsend provides global program, project, and cost management across 60+ countries, and you will join a team delivering critical infrastructure for hyperscale clients. You will coordinate architects, engineers, and contractors through every phase, ensuring compliance, quality, and timely delivery. This role offers direct client exposure and the chance to drive process improvements across a portfolio of high-stakes builds.
What You'll Do10
- 1Manage stakeholder relationships with architects, engineers, and suppliers to deliver compliant projects on schedule.
- 2Track and analyze critical milestones, adjusting forecasts to avoid schedule slips on multiple concurrent builds.
- 3Implement project governance, processes, and best practices across all phases of construction.
- 4Produce formal status reports and present progress to clients and internal leadership.
- 5Monitor construction progress against approved design standards, identifying deviations early.
- 6Run monthly trackers and weekly reviews to manage supplier interfaces and resolve conflicts.
- 7Facilitate information flow through regular meetings and written communications, ensuring RFIs receive rapid response from the field.
- 8Forecast and update key project milestones and budgets, providing cost control and value engineering guidance.
- 9Manage local design teams, ensuring alignment with commission criteria and client objectives.
- 10Drive process improvement by capturing lessons learned and refining internal systems.
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field.
- 25+ years managing large-scale construction projects, ideally data centers or mission-critical facilities.
- 3Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Procore.
- 4Strong organizational and management skills, with ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- 5Effective presentation skills for client and stakeholder updates.
- 6Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- 7Experience with construction project management tools beyond Procore.
- 8Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC with potential schedule changes.
