Overview

You will own the full lifecycle of civic architectural projects, from concept through closeout, at a firm shaping communities across the Southwest. Leading a multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and subconsultants, you will deliver projects up to $50M in construction value, coordinating with Parkhill's 14-office network. Acting as the client's primary contact, you will drive design coordination, financial health, and risk management while mentoring junior staff. This role offers a hybrid schedule, professional growth through Parkhill's internal development programs, and the chance to make a tangible impact on public spaces.

What You'll Do10

  • 1Own the full project lifecycle as the client's primary point of contact, from kickoff to closeout, ensuring alignment with expectations and satisfaction.
  • 2Drive design coordination by integrating efforts across project teams, engineers, and subconsultants, using Bluebeam and Deltek Vantagepoint to track progress.
  • 3Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, adjusting staffing and resources to meet deadlines and maintain profitability.
  • 4Lead client meetings, presenting solutions and addressing concerns promptly, while building long-term relationships that foster repeat business.
  • 5Monitor financial health by reviewing billing, expenses, and staff utilization, ensuring projects stay on track and profitable.
  • 6Identify and mitigate risks that could impact timelines, budgets, or quality, implementing proactive solutions.
  • 7Negotiate and manage subconsultant agreements, defining scope and ensuring deliverables meet contractual obligations.
  • 8Direct construction phase services, including punch lists and final deliverables, to achieve substantial completion.
  • 9Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes learning and professional growth.
  • 10Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and resources to achieve successful outcomes.

Requirements8

  • 15+ years in a project management role within architecture, engineering, or construction.
  • 2Professional registration as an Architect or Engineer is preferred (e.g., AIA, PE).
  • 3Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Deltek Vantagepoint.
  • 4Effective communication skills for engaging with clients, consultants, and teams.
  • 5Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • 6Experience with civic or public sector projects is a plus.
  • 7Strong leadership skills to guide and mentor project teams.
  • 8Ability to travel to client sites as needed, primarily in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
