Overview

You will lead complex Civic + Community projects from planning through construction at an award-winning, employee-owned architecture practice. You will act as the primary client contact, managing multidisciplinary teams, consultants, schedules, and budgets on 8+ figure projects. This role offers a hybrid schedule, performance bonuses, and a clear path to Principal. You will own project delivery, mentor emerging PMs, and drive business development for high-impact community work.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Own Civic + Community projects from programming through construction administration, delivering on scope, schedule, and budget.
  • 2Build trusted client relationships as the day-to-day contact, advising on project strategy and decisions.
  • 3Drive multidisciplinary teams including architecture, interiors, engineering, and specialty consultants to meet design and technical standards.
  • 4Coordinate complex planning and technical requirements with Revit, Bluebeam, and project management platforms.
  • 5Control project financial performance, staffing utilization, and profitability, identifying risks and implementing mitigations.
  • 6Lead client presentations, consultant coordination, and internal meetings to align stakeholders.
  • 7Mentor Project Architects and emerging Project Managers, advancing their technical and leadership skills.
  • 8Support proposals, interviews, and business development to secure new Civic and Community work.

Requirements8

  • 18+ years of architectural project management experience, with senior candidates bringing additional leadership.
  • 2Strong background in Civic or Community architecture projects, including arts, culture, or healthcare.
  • 3Proven ability to manage project teams, consultants, schedules, budgets, and client relationships.
  • 4Experience with complex renovation, expansion, or new construction projects.
  • 5Deep understanding of project delivery from programming through construction administration.
  • 6Proficiency with Revit and modern project management/documentation platforms.
  • 7Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field.
  • 8California architectural license strongly preferred; LEED, DBIA, or WELL credentials a plus.
