Accounting Technician, Government & Education Finance
Overview
accounting technician role supporting financial reporting and compliance in a public education setting. Owns general accounting tasks, journal entries, reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable while ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Works with a collaborative team at EVIT Main Campus in Mesa AZ and reports into the business office. This role offers steady, full-time hours M-F with a focus on fund accounting and regulatory adherence.
What You'll Do5
- 1Build and process journal entries to ensure accurate financial statements
- 2Reconcile accounts and support month-end closing to improve reporting accuracy
- 3Maintain financial records and assist with auditing activities
- 4Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- 5Assist with regulatory compliance and internal controls to meet ADE and local requirements
Requirements5
- 1High school diploma or GED with some college coursework in business accounting or finance
- 2Three to five years of accounting experience including fund accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, A/P and A/R
- 3Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel)
- 4Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
- 5Meets immunization requirements for measles and rubella if born after 1957
