Overview
The Accounting Specialist I leads journey-level clerical accounting for Accounts Payable Cost/Property Payroll Revenue/Receipts and Special Assessments while supporting citywide initiatives. This role requires meeting weekly biweekly and monthly deadlines and handling unusual problems.
What You'll Do9
- 1Reconcile accounts and balance payroll
- 2Prepare journal vouchers and initiate invoices
- 3Process city property classifications and manage petty cash
- 4Audit and adjust journals registers and reports
- 5Complete bank deposits and daily receipts
- 6Maintain 1099 data and support multiple departments
- 7Train and lead paraprofessionals
- 8Provide guidance to lower-level staff and external parties
- 9Meet deadlines across weekly biweekly and monthly cycles
Requirements5
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons experience in clerical accounting or bookkeeping
- 35+ years experience with personal computer software applications related to accounting
- 4High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 5Demonstrated ability to interpret unclear guidelines and resolve problems
