Health Services Technician, K-12 School Health
Overview
Health Services Technician provides in school health care to students and staff at a district of 211 days. They perform first aid, administer medications, maintain health records, and promote wellness within regulated guidelines. The role collaborates with the Health Services Coordinator and school staff to manage emergencies and health education. What You'll Do10
- 1Administer first aid and screen ill or injured students to determine level of care
- 2Document accidents and illnesses and complete reports per district procedures
- 3Organize and maintain health office and health records in compliance with laws
- 4Order and maintain school health equipment and first aid supplies
- 5Administer daily medications and treatments under physician guidance with parental consent
- 6Ensure medications are stored securely in locked cabinets
- 7Report daily attendance and communicate absences to parents and principal
- 8Consult with principal on emergencies, suspected abuse, contagious diseases, or other sensitive situations
- 9Provide health information impacting student performance and educate students and staff on health topics
- 10Organize and perform hearing, vision, and lice screening
Requirements5
- 1High School diploma
- 2Two years experience in a healthcare setting or school health environment
- 3Valid CPR certification prior to hire
- 4Valid First Aid certification prior to hire
- 5Valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (AZ IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card
