Overview
The Health Assistant will provide clerical and clinical support to address student health needs at Canyon Rim Elementary, ensuring safety and compliance. This role supports nurses and health services staff, handling screenings, documentation, and basic treatments onsite. Work involves collaborating with RN and teachers to maintain a healthy learning environment and meet district requirements. This position offers hands-on student care experience in a K-12 setting and the chance to impact daily wellness in the school.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and administer mandated screenings to support nurses and meet program requirements
- 2Assist with enrollment and verification of immunization histories and records
- 3Support nurses, students, and staff with treatments and monitoring of medical needs
- 4Maintain sanitary work areas and organize health office supplies
- 5Record and report health data, logs, and DSC program information
- 6Schedule screenings and coordinate health activities with staff and families
- 7Prepare written materials and notices for health-related information
- 8Report unsafe conditions and respond to inquiries from students and staff
- 9Supervise students during illness, screenings, and injuries
- 10Administer medications under nurse supervision
Requirements5
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Must possess a valid Arizona DPS Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- 3Certified Medical Assistant/EMT preferred; other relevant training considered
- 4Experience with clerical duties and health documentation is desirable
- 5Ability to read and write technical instructions and operate basic medical equipment
