Registered Nurse, School Health at Quail Run ES
Overview
Own the comprehensive school health program and provide nursing expertise to promote student wellness in a collaborative environment. Work with a team including teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to deliver health services, screenings, and referrals within Paradise Valley USD 69. This role emphasizes advocacy for student health, compliant reporting, and coordination of health initiatives. The position offers onsite school-based responsibilities and a path to impact student outcomes at the elementary level.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and maintain a comprehensive school health program and ensure timely health screenings
- 2Coordinate referrals to healthcare providers and document care via computer systems
- 3Collaborate with instructional staff and families to improve student health outcomes
- 4Prepare mandated health reports and immunization records for district/state compliance
- 5Respond to emergencies and maintain student safety and a positive learning environment
- 6Participate in various meetings (staff, IEPs, 504s) and contribute health data
- 7Counsel students and families to improve health status and problem-solving skills
- 8Manage health services plans in collaboration with district staff and PCL team
- 9Gathers statistics for district and state reports to support health initiatives
- 10Maintain current knowledge in school nursing practice and regulatory requirements
Requirements5
- 1Current professional nursing license
- 2Current CPR certification
- 3Arizona Nursing Certification or National School Nurse Certification to be acquired within three years of hire
- 4Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- 5Criminal Background Clearance and Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
