Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller, Construction
Overview
You will oversee full-cycle accounting for a well-established construction company in Denver, Colorado, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. Direct daily accounting operations and lead month-end close to deliver timely statements. Manage a small team, guide budgeting, and partner with stakeholders to drive financial integrity. What You'll Do8
- 1Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring financial records are complete, accurate, and compliant with company standards.
- 2Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to maintain general ledger integrity.
- 3Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, producing timely financial statements for internal and external use.
- 4Support financial and regulatory reporting by gathering data, validating results, and assisting with submissions.
- 5Analyze technical accounting matters and apply GAAP to resolve reporting questions and maintain compliance.
- 6Lead the budgeting cycle by partnering with stakeholders, consolidating inputs, and monitoring performance against plans.
- 7Supervise, coach, and develop accounting staff, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
- 8Improve accuracy and consistency across accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and related functions.
Requirements7
- 110+ years of full-cycle accounting experience with general ledger ownership and financial statement preparation.
- 2CPA certification required.
- 3Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 4Prior leadership experience overseeing or mentoring accounting staff.
- 5Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to research and interpret accounting guidance.
- 6Hands-on experience with accounting software, ERP platforms, and integrated financial systems.
- 7Solid understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and core accounting processes.
Salary Insight
