A/C Technician, HVAC & Building Automation
Overview
Own and service HVAC and BAS projects across commercial and residential properties at scale. You will install, repair, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems, ensuring safe, efficient climate control. You’ll interpret schematics, perform electrical diagnostics, and contribute to building automation optimization. This role blends hands-on trades with customer service and on-site collaboration to deliver reliable comfort and energy performance.
What You'll Do10
- 1Install and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment
- 2Read schematics, electrical diagrams, and BAS controls to diagnose issues
- 3Perform electrical diagnostics on HVAC/R systems and ensure proper connections
- 4Conduct preventative maintenance to maximize efficiency and system lifespan
- 5Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and identify root causes
- 6Repair or replace compressors, fans, motors, valves, thermostats, wiring, and refrigerant lines
- 7Maintain detailed service records and system performance reports
- 8Support building automation system integration to optimize energy use
- 9Assist with installation projects from planning through commissioning
- 10Provide clear customer explanations and ensure client satisfaction
Requirements9
- 1Proven experience as an HVAC service technician or related role
- 2Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on HVAC/R repair experience
- 3Ability to read schematics electrical diagrams and BAS controls
- 4Electrical diagnostics experience with ohmmeters and related tools
- 5Valid EPA certification for handling refrigerants
- 6Proficiency with hand tools and HVAC installation experience
- 7Knowledge of HVAC design principles and mechanical system repair techniques
- 8Excellent customer service and communication skills
- 9Valid driver’s license for travel between job sites
