HVAC Technician, Commercial & Residential Service
Overview
You will own the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems across commercial and residential properties in Boston. You'll diagnose electrical faults, repair mechanical failures, and keep buildings comfortable and safe. You'll join a tight team of service technicians backed by a company that provides a company truck, fuel card, and tools. What You'll Do7
- 1Install, maintain, and repair HVAC units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and mechanical systems in commercial and residential settings.
- 2Diagnose electrical issues using ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools to identify faults in electrical systems.
- 3Read schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot equipment problems accurately.
- 4Run routine inspections and preventative maintenance to boost system performance and energy efficiency.
- 5Repair plumbing components tied to HVAC systems and assist with mechanical repairs as needed.
- 6Troubleshoot equipment failures through systematic diagnosis and implement effective repairs to cut downtime.
- 7Explain repairs clearly to clients during field visits, ensuring satisfaction and trust.
Requirements9
- 1Proven construction experience with strong understanding of mechanical systems repair and HVAC system installation.
- 2Service technician experience with hands-on knowledge of HVAC/R equipment.
- 3Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams accurately.
- 4Mechanical knowledge covering plumbing, boiler operation, electrical systems, and HVAC design principles.
- 5Skilled with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
- 6Experience with electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting complex electrical systems within HVAC units.
- 7Knowledge of refrigerants, refrigeration cycles, and EPA certification requirements.
- 8Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- 9Ability to perform field service tasks safely in various environments.
