Overview

As the RTA AAU Boys Program Director, you will own the basketball and operational success of the boys' program in your assigned area. You will manage coaches, player development, scheduling, and communication, ensuring every athlete and family gets a first-class experience. This role is ideal for a high school or middle school coach or trainer looking to build a program while earning additional income. Access to a gym for practices is a key factor in this role, as you will organize and lead practices, events, and community outreach. You will be the face of RTA in your community, building lasting relationships with players, parents, and local programs.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Oversee all basketball operations for the assigned RTA program, coordinating schedules, practices, tournaments, and camps.
  • 2Recruit, interview, and onboard qualified coaches, ensuring every practice and event is properly staffed.
  • 3Mentor and evaluate coaches regularly, providing feedback to maintain consistent standards in player development.
  • 4Manage communication through RTA platforms, keeping coaches, players, and families informed of schedules and updates.
  • 5Foster a positive, family-oriented environment, addressing concerns with professionalism and resolving conflicts collaboratively.
  • 6Plan and supervise RTA camps, clinics, and skill development events, ensuring they meet organizational standards.
  • 7Drive business development by building relationships with schools, trainers, and youth organizations, and attending local events to boost visibility.
  • 8Manage local RTA social media content and marketing initiatives to increase player enrollment and community engagement.
  • 9Lead bi-weekly coaching staff meetings to discuss program updates, expectations, and player development.

Requirements7

  • 1High school, middle school, AAU, or collegiate coaching experience is preferred.
  • 2Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage multiple teams and schedules.
  • 3Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with players, parents, and coaches.
  • 4Passion for youth player development and mentorship.
  • 5Access to a gym for practices is strongly preferred and important for success.
  • 6Ability to work evenings and weekends during the basketball season.
  • 7Proven ability to manage multiple teams, coaches, and schedules effectively.
