Overview
The Director of Programs leads family youth development and community engagement initiatives at Decatur Shelby County YMCA. This role creates opportunities for individuals and families to connect grow and thrive through strategic oversight of youth programs family engagement Child Watch sports recreation camps classes leagues and other mission-driven offerings.
What You'll Do8
- 1Provide strategic leadership and oversight for youth development family engagement Child Watch sports and recreation camps classes leagues and community programs
- 2Recruit develop and lead high-performing teams that deliver exceptional member experiences
- 3Design implement and evaluate innovative mission-driven programs aligned with the Association's strategic plan
- 4Manage program budgets participation and performance metrics to ensure financial sustainability
- 5Ensure all programs meet YMCA standards for quality safety risk management and member experience
- 6Build relationships with schools community organizations volunteers and local partners to expand reach
- 7Serve as collaborative leader and ambassador for the YMCA while supporting Association-wide initiatives
- 8Perform other duties as assigned to support Association goals and advance the YMCA mission
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in recreation education nonprofit management human services or related field
- 2Equivalent combination of education and relevant leadership experience
- 3Minimum of three to five years in youth development recreation education or related field
- 4Minimum of two years of supervisory experience preferred
- 5Strong leadership communication and organizational skills
- 6CPR AED and First Aid certification obtained within 30 days of employment
- 7Ability to interact effectively with children staff and families from diverse backgrounds
- 8Commitment to creating a safe inclusive and engaging environment for children and families
Salary Insight
$42 - $49k per year
